This restaurant serves "home cookin' " to the predominantly African American east side of downtown San Antonio. The Owner made a point that the menu includes common food made uncommonly well, similar to common people from the neighborhood who have done uncommon things. To express this, the Owner wanted to display his collection of memorabilia of outstanding east side individuals. This includes a New York Yankees jersey, the revolver of the first black sheriff, a phonograph record of the first local black D.J., a football from a black neighborhood player on the Dallas Cowboys, etc. Background display boards are constructed of different materials, with different heights and widths, to represent the varied personalities and backgrounds of each individual.
